What home stagers do
Home stagers prepare a property to sell — arranging furniture, decor, and layout so it shows well in person and in photos. Staging is a design service, not a licensed trade, so experience, portfolio, and results matter most.
What are you working on?
Occupied-home refresh
Editing and restyling what’s already there to show its best.
Vacant staging
Furniture and decor rental to make an empty home feel like a home.
Photo-ready prep
Getting a home camera-ready before listing photos.
How to vet a home stager
- Review their portfolio and before/after photos of comparable homes.
- Ask exactly what’s included — consultation, furniture rental, install and de-stage.
- Confirm the rental period and fees, and what happens if the home takes longer to sell.
- Check reviews and ask for agent references.
- Line up timing with your listing and photography dates.
A note on licensing for home stagers
Home staging is not a state-licensed trade in California — there is no license or exam. That makes experience, a strong portfolio, and clear terms the real signals of quality.
Many established stagers belong to the Real Estate Staging Association (RESA), and an agent’s firsthand recommendation carries real weight here, since agents see which stagers actually move homes.
What “Agent Recommended” means here
On Wiserlist, an agent recommendation is context, not a paid badge. It means a real estate agent has told us they’ve worked with this pro and would send their own clients — and we show who said it and how they’ve worked together. Treat it as one signal alongside experience, insurance, and reviews.
