California licensing for plumbers
Plumbing in California is a Class C-36 specialty license, required for any job worth $1,000 or more (labor + materials).
A written contract is required for home-improvement work over $500, and the down payment is capped at $1,000 or 10% of the price, whichever is less. Verify license status and bond on the CSLB website.
